Question & Answer
How did Siena prepare you for your career/graduate work?
Siena did an excellent job preparing me for both career and graduate work. The small class sizes and emphasis on soft skills, as well as a liberal arts education gave me an edge.
What was your favorite course at Siena?
Introduction to Computer Science with Jim Matthews. His enthusiasm and quick wit drew me into CS (and education) for a lifetime.
What was your least favorite course at Siena?
It’s a tie between history and economics. Both are important, but none of the classes were very interesting to me.
What was your most remarkable experience at Siena?
Living on campus and participating in campus life side-by-side with the friars gave me a greater understanding of what it meant to be part of a Christian community.
Why did you choose to major in CS?
Why would anyone choose anything else? It’s a personal challenge and a great reward. It is an opportunity to tie together many different disciplines. It is logical, artistic, scientific, mathematical, eclectic, and powerful, not to mention you can not do much without some sort of computer technology today.
What is the best thing about the Siena CS department?
It is a family.
Would you recommend CS at Siena to others?
Absolutely.
